About USEvery year, JIU accepts students from a variety of countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, China, the Philippines, Canada, Spain, and the United States. In this program, we offer Japanese as a first foreign language course in the interdepartmental curriculum group I for the international students as well as the returning students.
During the first and the second year of their study, students will develop Japanese skills necessary for their academic training. In addition, this program helps the students pass the Japanese Proficiency Test Level 1 by the end of the first year. In the third and fourth years, students will acquire the writing skills they will need for their graduation-thesis and presentation skills as well as idiomatic expressions and hospitable expressions used in business. The International Exchange Program in the Department of International Humanities has been accepting international students from English-speaking countries, and JIU offers Japanese programs starting with the beginner’s level specifically for these students. We also offer customized programs designed to accommodate a variety of learning styles. Should the international exchange students and the international short-term students have passed the Japanese Proficiency Test Level 2, they can choose to take courses offered in the university-departments. |
